Reap the benefits of belonging to the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States!!
CANCER INSURANCE -
As a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, you are automatically enrolled in the specified disease insurance program, which helps pay cancer care costs, if your Auxiliary has voted to carry the plan. (Not available in all states.)
TRAVEL WITH THE AUXILIARY -
National meetings are held in different cities around the country and state meetings at various locations throughout the state so, if you choose to, you could become a seasoned traveler. Upcoming national meetings are scheduled for: Kansas City, MO; New York City, NY; Washington, D.C.; Milwaukee, WI; Orlando, FL; Charleston, WV; Nashville, TN; and San Antonio, TX.
VISA CREDIT CARD -
The Auxiliary Visa Credit Card offers no annual fee; 5.9% fixed introductory APR; balance transfer option; 25-day grace period on purchases; and a free additional card.
CAR RENTAL AND TRAVEL SERVICE -
Veterans Travel provides discounts for members on airfares, cruises, Amtrak travel, tours, and car rentals and hotel packages.
CANCER GRANTS -
After belonging to the Auxiliary for one year, members who must undergo therapy treatment and other procedures to fight cancer may receive grants from $300 to $500 to help cover costs. This is not connected with the insurance mentioned above.
SEVERAL SELF-PAID INSURANCE PROGRAMS -
Hospital insurance, modified whole life insurance, juvenile life insurance, burial insurance, individual cancer insurance, and three Medicare supplements are available to interested members. (Not all plans are available in all states.)
CREDIT UNION -
Membership in the VFW Credit Union is open to VFW and/or Auxiliary members and their immediate families
ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP -
Wives, widows, mothers, foster and stepmothers (who have performed the duties of parent), grandmothers, daughters, granddaughters, foster and stepdaughters (who attained that status prior to age sixteen and for whom the duties of parent were performed), sisters, half sisters, foster and stepsisters (who attained that status prior to age sixteen) of persons who were or are eligible for membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Authorization is shown on the veteran's separation document.
Women eligible for membership in the VFW shall be eligible for dual membership in the Ladies Auxiliary. Members must be citizens of the United States and at least 16 years of age. In applying for membership, widows who remarry and divorcees may not base eligibility on the service record of a former husband.
LIFE MEMBERSHIP
Any person otherwise eligible for membership in the Ladies Auxiliary may become a Life Member upon acceptance of her application and payment of specified fee. Fees are based on the applicant's age as of December 31 of the year of application, regardless of the member's actual birth date.
